Well, if youve seen my store, you know how much of my stock in trade stems from J. K. Rowling's imagination. Im pretty happy about that, because I am a huge fan of her books. Theyre massively entertaining, and have some pretty important messages. As everyone knows, fans all over the world have gathered at bookstores at midnight for the release of the past books in the series, so they can read Harry's latest adventures as soon as possible. (I was among them last time to grab my copy of the audiobook! While I'd be embarrassed by most real fanatics in a trivia contest, Im certainly more knowledgeable about JKR's fantasy world that the average middle aged man!)
This July promises to be a little different. For one thing, the new book will be the last of the series. For another, the release will come a mere 2 weeks after the release of the latest film version., with all the attendant publicity that Warner Bros. can muster. Now except for a (relativly) small number of extreme fans, these book release parties are the only time most HP fans actually gather together, and this July will be the very last time that will happen. Considering the fans will already be stoked by the movie, it promises to be a blow-out bash. The upshot is that ol' Mr. Halloween Man is going to be very busy in the few weeks leading up to it!
I'm thinking up some promotions to try to stoke the flames even higher, and not just for the sake of my own wallet. I want to see the fans really go nuts this last time. Ms. Rowling deserves it. One last loud long huge united shout out to her from the fans to thank her. Her books have added more to our culture than just another icon and popular franchise. Without them, our world would have been much less magical indeed.

Hello from Mr. Halloween Man!
Hi folks!
I'm Ray, a.k.a. Mr. Halloween Man. I'm 47, and live and work in S.E. Michigan, near Detroit. Over the past 30 years, Ive designed and created hundreds, maybe thousands, of Halloween masks and products for the biggest companies in the Halloween Industry, as well as selling Halloween products to the general public in both brick-and-mortar stores, and more recently on the internet. For as long as I can remember Ive been obsessed with Halloween, horror movies and everything connected with them, and have worked in every aspect of all of them.
Several years ago, my brother Bill and I started "THE HALLOWEEN BROS"., selling Halloween items on eBay. We sell the finest in Halloween collectibles and movie souvenirs for years, and were very proud of our fast shipping and customer service. While this was going on, I continued to design and prototype Halloween products under the banner of "RAZOR WYRE DESIGNS", and, to blow off steam, build model kits and create airbrushed full body makeups (a.k.a. bodypaintings) on beautiful ladies.
Things were going quite well, until, tragically, Bill suddenly died on June 23, 2006. Halloween 2006 was a struggle, both emotionally and physically, but somehow, I carried on and ran the business as a one-man-band. I miss him deeply every single day, and that huge hole that he left in my life will never really be filled. (In any business dealings i still speak of the business management as "we" instead of "I".) Somehow, I managed to keep up, and even develop new ways to streamline the processing of the orders.
After Bill's death, I decided to carry on alone. (Really how could I not carry on? Halloween has been the biggest part of my life for about as long as I can remember. I sincerely love the holiday and all that it represents.) After much thought, I created a new business identity "MR. HALLLOWEEN MAN"... I liked it because it seemed like something a little kid might call me (All my friends have said its a completely apt pseudonym for me.) At the same time, the eBay store continues to operate under the Halloween Bros. masthead. I still specialize in movie and Halloween merchandise, while picking up other fantastical themes along the way, like Harry Potter, Star Wars, and the Wizard of Oz.
All of this brings us to the present. I continue to produce new Halloween stuff to delight all of those that celebrate the holiday, and at the same time sell it to the public through eBay. As I sit here typing this in my office/ living room I am surrounded by hundreds of monsters, vampiresses, and other things both spooky and beautiful and completely and totally magical.
Ive started this blog to let you know about the new and exciting things going on with the Halloween industry, both what I am designing and am selling, as well as to exchange thoughts and ideas with other genre fans out there in order to try to make everyone's Halloween the very best one possible.
Hope to hear from you, and I'll see you here soon!
